About Us
We're a group of Junior students from the Academy of Medical Arts at Carson High that have a goal of educating our peers of the stigmas surrounding mental health, and breaking them through community.
We provide frequent posts about community, self-help tips, and academic advice. We connect with the community through interactive posts, engaging presentations, activities, and table events.

"I was interested in Mental Health Promotion because having a good and healthy mindset is important while growing up. It impacts not just your mental state but the way you live your life, forming relationships, and being productive."

Ryan Leilua
"I wanted to join Mental Health Promotion as I wanted to be able to promote the well-being of our school population as it is key to leading a life with good mental health to all people. I want to help break the stigma surrounding mental health that prevents people from reaching out for help leading to worsening mental health. I want people to be happy and lead the life they want to be able to live."

Sophia Perez
"I joined Mental Health Promotion because mental health is a topic that is very important to me, as it is the most vital aspect for living a healthy, happy life. Psychology and neurology are such exciting study fields that I wish to pursue. I do my best to apply my knowledge to redirect my thinking to positive and nurturing thoughts to grow a healthy mind. My goal is to support my community, family, and friends through this project, bringing everyone together on our journey to mental health!"

Kendra Yiadom
"I decided to join Mental Health Promotion because I understand the importance of taking care and valuing your mental well being. With being a student and juggling different responsibilities it can be easy to fall into bad habits and negative mindsets. Being a part of this group has impacted my mental health by allowing me to integrate healthy habits into my daily life such as emotional regulation and self-expression. By pursuing this project I can bring awareness to my community about mental well being and its positive life changes."
- Kendra Yiadom

Mya Zarate
"I joined Mental Health Promotion because I believe the topic of mental health is not covered enough, in terms of accessible services. It is important to be aware of this disparity and help what is needed. Mental health is the state of emotional well-being and it is important to prioritize its proactive care."
- Mya Zarate
